Our Home in the Mountains

Our Home in the Mountains
Summer 2010

Sunday, January 16, 2011

Now that we have  made it through the Holidays it is time to get back so of the real things of everyday life, set some goals, do some organizing, learn something new and finish or do some new projects. I like doing some of these tasks inside of the house this time of the year.   It  also feels good to do some exercising or loose some extra pounds.  This is not the easiest thing to do however ones clothes do fit better for the effort.
Right now we have mountains of snow piled up everywhere and it has been raining to the point that water is running down all the roads and on the news they just announced that the highway between Garden Valley and Banks is closed.  Probably mud and rock slides.  It is a good thing that we went to Boise on Saturday.
What do you like to do in the Snowy rainy months of Jan. and Feb?

Welcome to my Table

Come In and see what in happening at our Table.  Some times there is a lot on our plate and lots of friends family and neighbors  to share good times, good food, and good memories with.
This evening we were around a friends table with good friends that we had not seen in a while and it was so good to see them again.  Time is too short to let it go by without staying in touch more.
We also took a drive through the Mts to the county seat as I won the county Lottery, as my husband puts it-  and get to serve on jury duty for the next 60 days. Since it is the time of year in our part of the country that snow could come and stay I thought it best to check out the route that I might before hand.  I think that 4 wheel drive and some alternative route might be in order if we get snow and I have to report at 8:30 am an Hour plus away.
It was a good drive and lots more steep winding roads that I had remembered since I was there last.  Good 4 Wheeler roads though.
Last summer we Went over this same road  with one of the  daughters and a friend on a great ride on the 4 wheelers with dust flying and the sun shining brightly. Just a little different now.
